Hi everyone.
Recently I’ve been having issues with the Waze app on Android Auto and I’d like to know if anyone has experienced something similar.
When starting Waze on the infotainment system, everything looks normal. I pick a route and it gives me directions to the destination.
The problem happens when, for some reason, there are alerts near me on the route; I can’t add new reports because the report I’m approaching doesn’t give me the option to skip or ignore it, and if I choose the “not there” button and the hazard actually is there when I arrive, it would complicate navigation for other Wazers. Once I move forward and pass that report, I’m then able to add reports.
It’s worth noting that the dashboard screen is a touchscreen, but the system doesn’t allow me to use it when Android Auto or Apple CarPlay is active, so all interaction is via joystick (Mazda), meaning there’s no option to “click” elsewhere on the screen like on a phone.
Searching around a bit, I’m not sure if it’s due to this https://www.waze.com/discuss/t/mobile-force-upgrade-feature/
Opinions, advice, suggestions? Thanks for reading.
