The ability to add your own car image would be fantastic! Or at least a poll with user submitted ideas of new cars to add. Would love to see a MINI in there! 
I don’t think they can do it for free…
I know that cars manufactories usually make game developers pay to use their cars in the games. This wouldn’t be much different.
They could just leave up to the user to upload a generic picture… this way it’s up to the user to upload the car image (and take responsibility for that). But then we would eventually end up with kitties and dick-mobiles, and it wouldn’t be very pleasant.
I think the best thing is to keep going with the standard types of cars, and maybe have a slider for the color so they don’t have to prepare every single mix.
Well, a Ferrari and a smart are already present… and I do think user-created content would be fine; there are all manner of downloadable user-made real cars for the TomTom. My TomTom currently features Mario Kart
I take solace in that the “Gray Car” sort of looks like a silver Prius, so it does okay for now.

Maybe yall can create an online pixel car icon creator?
Well, actually, now that you’ve raised the pixel creator, I guess anyone can create a car and then add it to the car directory where we keep all the .png files. Didn’t try it, but I guess if you stepped over one of the cars with the new one (give it same name at least temporarily), and it will replace our .png file. for that car. (by the way, in some of the phones the .png suffix was changed due to the large amounts of .png files that got into user’s picasa and flickr accounts).
Maybe someone can try that.
