Hi all!
My name is Hannah and I am so excited to join the Waze Community team - I am really looking forward to getting to know each of you.
I am originally from Louisville, Kentucky but have lived all over the US- from Washington state to NYC. I have family scattered throughout the US, as well as Costa Rica. In 2016, I moved to Tel Aviv, Israel. In the following two and half years, I completed my MA in Archaeology and internship at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
Before joining Waze, I worked in a variety of different disciplines throughout my career, ranging from archaeology, art curation, as well as public relations. Most related to my current position at Waze is my experience working as an operations specialist for a ride share mobile application, as well as online content development, including online event coordination, global outreach, and content localization.
I live on the beach north of Tel Aviv and coming from Kentucky (a landlocked state), it is a dream come true! I enjoy surfing in the mornings when the waves are good, walking my dog along the coastline, and seeing the sunset every evening. In my free time I enjoy hiking, practicing yoga, and taking photographs. Before the pandemic, I loved to travel any chance I had! So far I have been to 21 countries and I hope to travel again soon… hopefully for an in person meetup this year!
When I arrived in Israel, I was introduced to Waze through my now fiance, who is a very loyal user. As we lived in different cities, Waze always ensured he would be on the fastest route to pick me up (so we never missed our movie tickets!). Since then, Waze has helped me get to everything from archaeological sites in Israel, to a wedding in Cyprus!
I will be working with communities in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, as well as the Middle East (Arabic speaking countries) and Africa. I also will help to manage the Localization Community, together with nickyaug.
I have spent the last four weeks on-boarding, with the support of this amazing team and am ready (or almost) to hit the road!
