Hi Everyone

We hope you’re all doing well.

We’ve just released a brief new version of WME prod, v2.223.

Below you can find a summary of the release.

Known issue:

• Lanes width: Apply button should be disabled after applying and becomes active with any new change.

New features/enhancements:

1. We are excited to announce that with this release we open a great new addition to the WME, currently in NA and ROW, that will allow champs to Request Updated Satellite Imagery straight from the Editor. See more details in the release notes document.
2. Suggest an Edit: Add suggester to history item - enabled.
3. Performance improvement: The team has added several tools to assist in investigating performance issues. We want to emphasize that if you encounter any problems, please share them with us using this form.
4. Make a better distinction between pedestrian boardwalk, stairway and walking trail segments in WME - enabled.

EDIT: With this release, we also enabled the Update to House Number Editing on WME. We updated the logic to better reflect the effort you put into keeping maps accurate, and we now give one map edit point per HN added and/or edited. You can find more information here.

Bug fixes:

We’ve released 8 bug fixes.

1. Can’t delete a closure from feed although seen in the WME - fixed
2. Issue Tracker: Missing UR after switching from “Managed Area” back to “Specific area” - fixed
3. Issue tracker filters: PURs section - Unable to select venue sub-category - fixed
4. Suggest an Edit: Unable to resolve suggestions after the segment was split / merged - fixed.
5. Suggest an Edit: error appears when suggesting a new street or city for the main or alternative address - fixed.
6. Suggest an Edit: No Scroll under the issue card - fixed
7. Closures: Enable closure layer doesn’t return all closures - fixed.
8. Place’s type icons go out of the Place dropdown - fixed

apologies if this has already been answered or is a stupid question, but i was viewing my drivers in wme, and i noticed that the gps drive lines are different? (and i have also noticed on some drives, either at the beginning or end, it shows a red gps line?(unavailable attachment: Screenshot (3798).png)

The red line is where you drove where there is no segments, like when you drive off-road.

There seems to be a bug where URs will show all even though you only want to see the open ones.

Yesterday I found two PURs about “New details for Place”, but it do not show any information that the user wants to update. Is this a bug?

This is a known issue.

Inactive closures become invisible according to zoom level. They disappear when zooming out but do not reappear when zooming in. This is also the case in incognito mode. Problem occurred in the previous release as well

Hi Thomas,
this is known Bug and already reported to Staff. (Following link only accesible for WME Beta Users: Beta Tracking Reference https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=408134 )
Workaround: After zooming in please reload with the button on the right sight, then the closures reapper.

There seems to be a bug where URs will show all even though you only want to see the open ones.

Login: username error x design flaws
A novice user approached me saying they tried to log into WME, but their password wasn’t working.
They said they reset the password several times, but nothing worked…

They sent me a screenshot. See if you guys can figure out the problem.

Reasons to blame the user:

1. As soon as the user accesses the page, the phrase “Enter your username and password” appears.

2. As soon as the user accesses the page, the placeholder “Username” appears in the text entry field.

However, the user entered their email in place of the username. It’s the user’s fault!

Reasons to blame Waze:

1. Once the user clicks on the text entry field, the “Username” placeholder disappears.

2. After the user submits the form, the phrase “Enter your username and password” is located too far from the text entry fields (above the red bar).

3. The red bar is very vague (and still not fully translated to pt-br).

4. The green bar brings outdated and conflicting information compared to the red bar.

5. The persistence of the message related to the QR code at the top only contributes to increasing the noise in understanding the messages.

Solutions:

1. Duplicate the text “Username” and “Password” right above their respective text entry fields (below the green bar).

2. Adopt a resilient solution for the “Username” field, which could be one of the following:

a) Ideally, the field should accept both email or username indiscriminately.

b) If the architecture makes the first option difficult, a specific message should appear if the user types an “@” in this field (in JavaScript, during typing, and redundantly after form submission).

3. Prevent the display of the outdated green bar.

4. Adjust the message of the red bar, to suggest which login information is incorrect (I understand that obscuring the user can be intentional, but in this case, the simple indication that an email was entered instead of a username does not pose a security risk).

5. If the user has already opted for login with username and password, the error screen on login should make the option to log in with the QR code more discreet, in order to prioritize the already started flow.

Why if I select this segment as part of a JB, everything disappears from the WME?

i’ve noticed whilst trying to create a place, an error kept getting thrown when i pressed save - “the highlighted place has an invalid house number”. i couldn’t find why this was but then i realised i had an empty space after the numbers as when i removed the space, it saved?

not always. I had this problem (post in Hebrew) without your solution. The reason is not known, but after I recreated a house number in the layer, I waited for the map built and then I was able to add.Thanks also to hen20001@ for the help in finding a solutionMoses

Hi, this could be a Permanent Hazards bug. Find a segment with a Far Lanes guidance applied and add a Multiple lanes merging hazard to the segment. The B->A direction of Multiple lane merging hazard becomes greyed out and cant be toggled.

• If an existing saved house number’s (HN) anchor position is >50 m away from the proposed position of a new RPP triangle, then the RPP will not save. Delete the HN and wait until the HN database updates (generally at least two tile updates) to retry saving this as an RPP. The proposed RPP can either be saved in the correct location as a point place (with name added, should be converted to RPP after HN update) or as an RPP within 50 m of the HN anchor location (should be moved to correct location after the HN update) with an entry point moved to the correct location. A map comment should be added here to both remind editors to fix it and to easily find the area again.
