New Editor version 2.86-2 & 2.86-3

Hi,

Hope you’re all doing well.

A new WME version has been released with many exciting updates and much expected bug fixes!

We are trying this new format this time for better organization and visibility.

Let us know what you think about it and if you prefer the previous format (release notes directly in the forum post) or this one (embed doc)

This is the link to the release notes file in case you wanna read it directly in docs.

Thanks!

Looks like problem with HNs has been corrected as well.

Hooray. The save button on mobile is back.

You are correct, sorry for missing that! We will add it to the main release.

The embeded doc is a little difficult to navigate on mobile (scrolling side-to-side) but I like it on desktop. Thanks for always looking to improve communications!

The Editor is now not loading at all for me, it’s just indefinitely stuck on the loading screen, worked fine yesterday prior to this update…

This is also fixed.

Hello

There seems to be a problem with the “snapshot” button (previous map build toggle). The same problem exists in WME beta.

See gif  https://ibb.co/J709FDz

Now it works a bit too aggressively. While trying to add a street name, if you get a suggested street name and press Enter then the changes are applied and the user can’t add a house number. Unless they start editing the address again.
How it should work? The first Enter should choose the suggested name and the second press of Enter should apply the changes.

I preferred the previous format more, because scrolling multiple windows can get quite disorientating.

This is part of a community suggestion to have an option of choosing to leave the previous map build toggle on screen

Correct  This is part of the “bug fixes” section of the file.

Hi Trystanv86,

Were you able to log in? If not, could you please share a screen recording of the issue?

Have you tried logging in with your username and with your email as well?

Thanks!

Personally I do not see any advantage to leave it on screen, but see the GIF: the blue/gray toggle shouldn’t change according to “snapshot” on/off?

Yes into the Waze main page, then when selecting the map editor from the dropdown under my profile on the top right the page would load but it just stays stuck on the loading page with the blue circle just spinning around indefinitely

Edit : added screenshot

The reason it was requested is because there are many editors who want the ability to quickly switch between live and snapshot mode while researching issues.

The toggle button allows the quick switch

Please try to access using waze.com/editor and let me know how it goes

We deployed a hotfix, v2.86-3 to beta.

Share permalink-if the zoom level is above 5, it is not updated in the PL -FIXED

Best,
Maia

But we already have that ability to quickly switch between live and snapshot mode :?

We just need to click on that small smartphone icon  see GIF https://ibb.co/x3ZYx5z

You may say that it is not very intuitive that way, but the ability is there.

But despite having it always on or not … you can see on my other GIF image that the blue/gray toggle is not changing color according to live/snapshot mode

Same result as before, just the never ending spinning circle
