A new WME version v2.80-8 has been released with exciting updates!
Roadshields: Support the addition of RS in the Towards input field- ENABLED
Community suggestion: Respect newlines/paragraphs in the initial base text of Map Comments- ENABLED
And I’m very happy to update you that the TILE BUILD STATUS is now enabled!
Can you guess in which year this feature was suggested?
Please read more about it in this document (credits: Ruben and Brett from the team).
Some notes about the Tile Build Status:
We’ve passed on the great feedback you provided in the beta release and it is currently under review, but there were no critical issues preventing this functionality to reach production.
We are aware of a current issue of the “map build” message being on top of the invalid environment message and we are working on a fix.
Please note that in the near future there will be Help Center article that editors will be able to access from the tile build status table.
We are still finalizing the copy for the “tile build in x hours”- so it might change in the near future.
This bug showing the incorrect number of visual instructions with US English in the NA environment, reported earlier, has been released to the production environment.
As can be seen in the US English screenshot, there is a Roadshield visual instruction placed in this turn arrow, the dropdown box shows shows Edit instructions (which is correct), but the number shows 0 (which is not correct - it should show 1).
However, if I change my language to English, the number shows 1 (which is correct).
You are correct, this issue was reported in beta and it is indeed a great catch as it only happens in US English.
We are working on a fix but did not consider this as a critical issue as it is not blocking a main function. That said, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention as we understand it can be annoying and also confusing during the process of adding turn instructions.
Any possibility of changing the text for the North American environment from USA? This bothers us Canadians, and I’m reasonably certain the Mexican editing community will echo this sentiment.
I don’t think RTCs should have this kind of information in the segment history as it might confuse editors. Real time closure but not on the navigable map yet?
