We have built a new template to use on all the States and territories of the US. KuniaKid has started the test page for Hawaii. Once it is complete with all the content of the original page, we will move it into the main Wiki namespace for everyone to use. While we are completing the page, if you are an area manager in the state, you are welcome to add your name to the area manager table on the new page.

And thanks for getting us started, Kent! Assume this would be a good place to store/update info on closures, especially those related to rail but also the H-1 rehab project.
One of the content issues we’ll have to resolve is the posting of mapping resources. For example, the Functional Classification issue: The link on the federal page for Hawaii is to a page that for many people NOT running a certain version of IE is basically unusable. (That’s the fault of Hawaii’s famously crummy infotech, not the feds.)
I’ve been meaning to go to DOT and see if I can get another format that can be uploaded to another storage site that can be linked as a resource. I’ve emailed and called one intermediary but got no response, so since I work within walking distance of the place, I’m just going to head over and ask some live body.
No time like the present. Er, maybe when they open tomorrow (before I head off for Vegas on Wednesday!

I’ve copied the “ToDo” page that is listed at the original Hawaii page under the USA catagory, to the To_do link on the test page. Should we delete the original? When we go “live”, will this test page go to that location? (https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Hawaii)
Also, I’ve researched the camera issue for Hawaii and there are no speed or red light cameras in Hawaii. A lot of drivers are trying to add them through the app. I think they see the traffic cameras and report them as speed/red light cameras. How should we proceed with that section?
I enabled the “Other Area Editors” section because there are several level 1 and level 2 editors working their way around the map. Should we add them? Or allow them to add themselves?
You can also just add a link from the new test page to the current ToDo page so nothing has to be done after the test phase is complete.
This is a constant problem. The camera section can be set to say both cameras are illegal. Reports from drivers that are not accepted by editors do not appear on the map and expire after about 21 days.
Up to each state. Generally getting added is for their own positive feedback being part of the system. I doubt there is any down side to adding them.
I considered this, but I thought that there might be an issue if the test page has the word test removed from the page to just a state name. Kind of like a circular issue. What happens to the page currently named Hawaii when Hawaii/Test turns into Hawaii. Am I missing something? If B has a link to A, then B becomes A, then the new A has a link to itself.
Hawaii/Test/XXX pages when we are ready will be moved to Hawaii/XXX. If there is currently a Hawaii/Resources, then you DON’T want to create Hawaii/Test/Resources, unless you created it 100% from the current Hawaii/Resources, because it will overwrite the original.
You can have Hawaii/Test point to Hawaii/Resources right now. When we move the test page to the main space, the original links to Hawaii/Resources will stay as they were and work fine. Anything that links to Hawaii/Test/XXX should use the {{RootPage2}}/XXX format that I preload on all those customized pages. That way no matter where the main template is moved, it will pull up the correct final subpage. The move of the main page automatically gets all subpages as well.
Note, even if it gets completely screwed up after the testing is done, I can fix it for you. 
I’m thinking we should put a list together of the active/recently active editors and PM them to notify them they’re being added to the roll unless they opt out. The PM could point them to this forum or give them an email link for communication. I can start working on this.
I like the idea of adding editors with the goal of building the community – and growing new area managers!
And exposing editors to Best Map Editing Practices.
