Hello, I work in new housing construction and a lot of the places I go to do not have streets currently built into the map. When I try to go back and build new streets in the map editor it says “That change isn’t allowed at this time and won’t be sent for review”. I never had any issues building new streets before the new updates to the editor and was wondering if there was a way around this.

It’s possible the segments are locked or could be out of your editing area. If you haven’t used Waze within 1 mile of the area you want to edit within the last 90 days, or if you did and just didn’t get credit for it due to cellular service / data issues, you may get that error. Waze has recently released a “feature” I don’t have any experience with yet where an editor can make suggested edits to segments the otherwise couldn’t due to locks or no edit area. Please check the “editable area” layer and make sure the area you are attempting to edit is not grayed out. For real-time assistance, you are welcome to join our Discord Server at:

Here’s the area I’m trying to edit, it is in an editable area for me. I can build the streets but can not make any connections to the main road. Whenever I try to make a connection to the main road it won’t let me send the change in for review.
I lowered the locks I presume you’ll need lowered to L1. Let me know when you’re finished

Go for it. There may be a glitch with the “suggested edit” when adding a segment. But if you request unlocks, we can take care of it.
