We were thinking of holding a long-lunch gathering of interested NM or other editors in Albuquerque. Post here about ideas or if you’re interested.
A long lunch would be great! Put me down for any day as long as we know about a week in advance. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Preliminary information for this gathering is as follows:
When: Tuesday Frbruary 25th, 1200-1400, meeting earlier is fine too.
Location: Albuquerque, place TBD
If you’re interested in chatting or getting together, post here or PM vectorspace.
We’ve set the place. If you can make it and have not received a PM from me, send me a PM and I will let you know.
We had an enjoyable meeting of four New Mexico editors. We discussed a broad set of issues in general and those specific to New Mexico and the Southwest. Those attending were:

We talked about encouraging new editors, editing specifics, landmarking, Southwest-specific needs, contributing while driving, rogue/rude and unappreciated edits, sources of geo information from BLM, USFS, and a lot of other things.
Interesting discussion went beyond that toward other geo-based games like Google Ingress and Geocaching, which seem to over hope to the human race to avoid the year-5555 threat of limbs hanging limp at our sides. That 2525 song has haunted me since I was a kid.
If you do a meet on Saturday sometime, with enough notice we would show up!
FYI… I met with irowiki and his family when they came to Albuquerque this weekend. He resides in the Farmington area.
