Hi Everyone,
We’re excited to share this post from our Waze blog, announcing two new features to help drivers get around more confidently and safely.
Please help us share the following news by posting it on your social media and local community social channels:
-
Conversational Reporting: You can already use Waze to report a range of incidents, including traffic, potholes, construction, and more. Now, with the help of Gemini, we are making it easier and safer than ever to report road incidents and hazards with Conversational Reporting. When you want to report an incident or hazard, all you need to do is tap on the reporting button and speak naturally about what you see - no cues or command words needed. For example, you can say, “I’m stuck behind cars and there is something on the road.” With Gemini, Waze will understand what you’re saying, identify what category of reports it matches, and automatically add a real-time report on the map for you.

Conversational Reporting launches in beta globally this week in English on Android and iOS (Mobile only), with plans to expand to more users, languages and in-car in the coming months.
-
School Zones: A long standing feature request from you! On Waze, you already see alerts for accidents, traffic jams, and speed cameras. Now, we’re adding a new alert to help keep kids safe: School Zones! Later this year, you’ll start seeing alerts in the Waze app when you’re driving near a school. These alerts will remind you to slow down and be extra cautious.
Editors in WME will be able to map a new polygon-based Permanent Hazard type for School Zones. This will make it easy to map the relevant roads around the school to trigger the alert in the app for drivers.
- School Zones will launch in beta globally in WME and in the app on Android and iOS this year.
Stay tuned for more exciting features launching over the coming months!
