Hi
I have been using waze for about 2 weeks now and have been leaving it on / using it for directions on almost every journey I have made.
I would like to help out by editing some of the maps around the areas I have driven, and indeed about a week ago I did get onto the editor and sorted out a few issues to do with placement/direction of speed cameras and some road names just to get started.
However, whenever I log into the map editor now (waze.com/editor?) it shows last map update as 30/04/12 and shows ‘no drives’ and therefore no editable area…
I am sure I have been logging in when using waze and would like to help with some map editing but can’t! Can anyone help or suggest what I am doing wrong? I know it can take a couple of days for drives to show up, but have been trying for about a week now, and consistently shows that I haven’t any editable area…

Okay, so update - some good news…and some not so good.
I managed to get the older editor (cartouche???) to work and this seems to accept my edits.
However, I learned that it is easy to make a mistake when trying to edit a ‘gap’ in a road, and for reasons I don’t fully understand the editor appeared to draw a new road between 2 nodes which doesn’t exist (going right through several houses etc).
I have tried to sort out and have deleted the newly added road, which has generated a message stating that an area manager needs to approve the delete. Fair enough, but I’m not sure I have managed to connect up the junction again as it should be.
I am of course happy to do the work to correct (both a penance for my stupidity and also a ‘learning experience’!) but I’m really not sure how to go about fixing it. I don’t want to make anything worse, so wonder if anyone can have a look at the junction for me and talk me through what needs fixing?
Location of junction is as showing as follows when I hover over it:-

Hi and welcome to Waze! I think you need to read the Wiki before you go any further. Particularly the following http://www.waze.com/wiki/index.php/United_Kingdom (which links elsewhere to other guidance). I do not recommend you use cartouche, WME is much easier. You also need to read the status.waze.com page to see how up to date uploads of driving sessions are. At the moment WME is suffering some sort of server issue and is unusable, but it will be back, stick with it!

I think I’ll just stick to naming roads…the rest looks a bit too complicated for me.
But still can’t do anything as server not showing journeys I am making…

Make sure you read and follow the correct road naming procedures for the UK. You know us, we like to be “proper” on these things
