New WME Version v2.36-206

Interestingly enough I’ve noticed have to save twice in a few instances before an edit will take hold. Place approval is where I see this predominantly.

I take back my previous comment about the quality of this release being “disappointing”. After more time to reflect, there are no excuses for this many major bugs to be released to the wild. None. If this were any commercial product, the company’s reputation would be damaged beyond repair and they’d go out of business. This is a junk quality release and someone should held accountable for allowing it to happen. Waze DEPENDS on us volunteer editors to make their product viable, but they can’t be depended upon to make sure we can do our VOLUNTEER work effectively. That’s a really inexcusably badly broken business model.

This has happened to me for some time. I haven’t taken the time to experiment, but I wonder if it is due to a script conflict or bug.

I am frequently experiencing road names showing as “non-existent streetid” when I either select them or hover my mouse over them. This happens with all scripts/extensions disabled. A hard refresh of WME fixes it, but only temporarily.

I’m going to say no, but anything’s possible. I’ve been doing quite a few in the last couple of weeks and have only had the problem since the WME update.

Yes, quite annoying. Have had this for quite some time. Have you tried just reloading the road data? That usually fixes for me.

Hey all!

The issue we’ve had with edits count should be fixed.

Thank you again for reporting!

Best,
Hezi

This might not be a good time, but as far as backwards compatibility breaking goes, I’d fully support switching over to OpenLayers v3 or even more recent version. No sarcasm, no nothing. Just do it

In the long term that’s something that will probably need to happen indeed. OpenLayers is currently already at version 5.3.3 and it has some interesting performance improvements by using the more modern web standards to render the map. That said, I’m not sure whether Waze is currently running into walls when they want to implement new features.

That will pretty much break all scripts though. Such a change would need to remain in beta for quite a while so all scripts can be adjusted and we’d preferably even learn about such changes a good time in advance so we can free up time for this.
