First post on this forum, to start I want to say thank you to all editors who keep the app updated, it’s extremely useful to me, and hopefully others as well.
I have an issue I’d like to report, during my commute from work, traveling from Virginia on I-66 into the District, heading toward my apartment building, with the address of 443 New York Avenue NW. Waze will instruct drivers to continue traveling north on New York Ave NW from 5th to 4th street, and that my destination is on the left. While the destination is on the left, there is a large concrete and brick median blocking any ability to turn into the garage or make a U-Turn.
The median begins about 100 feet from the intersection of 5th NW and New York Ave NW and continues until the intersection of 4th NW, New York Ave NW and 395. I attempted to edit the road but it appears locked to more senior map editors. My guess is that this road should be marked as two one way roads?
Since I’m a noob to these forums let me know if I could provide further evidence or further information.
Thank you for your kind words! we’re always happy to hear on your user experience and how we can improve.
I took a look into the issue you highlighted above and with Street View. The road turn restrictions themselves were not the issue, but more so on the location of the residential place point.
Splitting the road, as you suggested, is a possible solution, however we do have some guidelines on when they should/shouldn’t.
I’ve updated the residential place point for that location (should might have to enable the “Show Residential” feature on the Places layer) and the House Number for your address. When you have the opportunity, can you search for that address and verify that directions are now accurate? If the location is saved as a favorite, it might require removing/re-adding it.
If you ever encounter an issue via the app, there’s a built in feature to report an error on the spot. You can do so by pressing the Report button > clicking on Map Issue > Select Map Issue/type and add comments, if you safely can, otherwise one of our local map editors will be in touch to follow up. Doing so via this avenue, the forum, also works as well.
Last, but not least, you’re more than welcome to join our community of volunteer editors in contributing to improve the area. If you’d like more information on how to do so, or getting started, please feel free to let any of us know!
