Newbie needs a little help

I am very intrigued with the community editing aspect. I looked up my home. I have lived here 22 years. Both Waze and Google Maps put my home in La Madera. It is NOT in La Madera, it is in Vallecitos. Different zip code. How can that be corrected?

Also, my strange occupation takes me to many weird and isolated places, usually at 0300. Good navigation is critical, but good cell signals are not always present.

I found A 2010 post asking about navigation when no cell signal. That post had a reply that basically said “we’re working on it,” but I can’t find any follow-up. Is Waze going to leave me clueless in the wilderness or can I perhaps download the map to an area before I leave cell coverage?

You can PM your address and we can work on getting the location correct.

The cell signal is still required for downloading the map while you drive. The exception is if you create a route to the location. Waze will download the map and navigation but if you deviate from said path while you don’t have cell coverage then you will be out of luck (no map or no navigation). And rarely you will be able to get a route back, until you get cell coverage then you will be able to route to someplace.

So cell coverage is a major requirement!
