No junction at 40 /13 "Y" intersection

This is a funny intersection, since a light controls it, but no turns are allowed.
It was drawn as an overpass to avoid a junction.
It is an interesting study case!

This was done on purpose, to avoid any junction (since there isn’t one in terms of no turning allowed). If my memory serves, I did this as per a guideline in the wiki at some point. It was part of Jondrush and I’s cleaning and fixing of US-40/US-13 in that area.

It is pretty interesting, and the first I’ve seen like that.

Aaaand… it’s gone.

Let’s see if that ‘fixes’ the traffic reporting question. I’ll be driving through there today and on Monday so I’ll give it a look-see then!

I drove through there loads before, including with nav on, and never noticed any issues (from 40 towards Hares Corner), so got me what the problem originally was.

… besides having to wait 5 minutes for that light if you hit it wrong that is…

I don’t honestly believe there was a problem per se. I used to drive that way for years until we recently moved, and it wasn’t ever an issue.

However I suppose it would be slightly confusing getting a “are you in traffic” when you are at the light. This may also slightly improve the speed calculations through that intersection now.

Well, I’m a noob, and always curious about the new things that look odd to me – which is a lot of things, since I am a noob. So I am interested in questions of when it is better to do it one way vs another, and I really appreciate the comments on what happens when these things get changed.

I think there is a lot that can be learned in a short time.
