But when I try and create the outline of the roundabout, I keep getting, you do not have permissions, because it keep registering the segments for the Gateway, even though they are elevation 1, and my roundabout is ground level.
It is becuase the Gateway has a L5 lock level and is being included as a connection to the new roundabout you are trying to create.
I have dropped the Gateway to L2 for you.
To create the roundabout without connections to the Gateway, temporary drag the Gateway segments out of the way and then create the roundabout.
When the new roundabout has been created, move the Gateway segments back to their original positions.
Then you can then manually adjust the shape of the roundabout.
All you need to do is, just find the geometry nodes that are near the roundabout and shift things things out of the way.
There is no need to disconnect anything, otherwise things such as how long it takes to pass those junction nodes will be lost and will need to be relearnt again.
Its just like when you are shifting a segment because it doesnt match the aerial images.
I don’t see you log into the chat anytime, otherwise you could have asked the question in there.
I have tried this repeatedly and I get messages saying, does not complete a full circle, or similar messages.
As I have said before, I find learning from you very difficult and an upsetting experience. For example, have a look at the quote phrase above. It is clear from my experience at Cordyline Drive and now here that I am finding editing odd shaped roundabouts rather difficult, but your quoted sentence says- all you need to do is- do this, do that, and shift this, and bam, it is all done. Perhaps for a level 6 editor who has done this many times before it is as simple as that, but for me it is not. So as a teacher for me, you are not the right person. I have stated this to you previously.
And this is part of the reason why I am not logged into the chat box.
Overall, it is not easy to inform anyone that they have difficulties of this nature, but I would rather somebody else finish off this roundabout. This is just too upsetting for me.
When I hover over the geometry points and they disappear, I’ve pressed the ‘d’ key (not delete).
When I create new ones, it’s by dragging the small circle in the centre of two geometry nodes.
Your circle error message may be related to geometry nodes going backwards against each other, move them one by one and check that there’s nothing hidden anywhere.
Edit: I’ve enabled basic connectivity to permit routing in the interim.
I have known for a long time how to delete nodes, but…
This still seems to a difficult task that I can not yet manage.
I think the error was coming from two parts. The first was that the Gateway was part of the roundabout segments and I could not get rid of them, and secondly, that after I would complete one section of a circle, I would attempt to save my work before moving on to the next segment of the circle. It was not until after watching the video that I realised that you need to complete the ‘circle’ before saving, otherwise waze thinks the circle is not complete, believes there is an error in the roundabout and gives the error message.
I have now completed my attempt at this odd shaped roundabout. Not sure why I am getting the yellow warning messages?
I had already tried that, and re-tried it after your suggestion for minimal improvement from my end. I also use wme validator as it gives a good report of the errors for the area, including soft turns to be fixed.
