Overlapping Nodes / Zero-Distance Nodes created on splitting segments in WME, causing geometry distortion

I think they should be fix, because they cause routing issues, and we cant just leave those issues, im sure they already have an example to look at hopefully

@DarkestWays you can most definitely go ahead and fix these nodes, unless there is a trivial example with no impact on routing.

Thank you and have a great day!

Thanks @Olesya-Staff I’ll leave PL1 and PL3 from my OP and fix the rest

I think it would be a good idea to have an example, so believe that if someone here can reproduce this issue by creating RA or dividing a street they can try reproducing it like in a rural area or maybe in an open location to keep an example, if we cant find one that wont damage routing which is pretty hard most if not all caused wrong guidance and directions that are very important for the user.
i just encounter a very long Road that was divided and almost every median had a geonode under the main Junction Northbound and Southbound, my question is, if this BUG gets fix, are those nodes going to be removed automatically, or we still have to look for them like in this cases, by the way @Olesya-Staff thank you for all your help with this issue really appreciate it.

Hi,
another example from a L1 as a map suggestion:
https://waze.com/de/editor?env=row&lat=47.58649&lon=12.19190&zoomLevel=16&mapComments=454331&editSuggestions=78ca1025-97c6-460e-92d2-a4ef45be51de

It’s a short segment somewhere in the mountains, so we can leave it open.

I cannot confirm it because I get “Cannot split segment with non overlaps node”.

Still trying to find a reliable way to do that, so if anyone can reproduce it more or less consistently, that would be really helpful.

I’ve asked the team if some data fix is possible, I’ll let you know once I hear back.

All the best,
Olesya
