Parking lot road issue

Hi Editors,
I was working with WME Validator and this interesting site showed up. Someone has put a parking lot road through a drive through of Taco Bell. I was trying to fix it, and then I wondered if it should exist at all…

Would some skilled editor fix or delete as appropriate.

Thanks,
Andrew.

Hi D39Andrew,

Sometimes drive-through segments are added when they are near roadways so that users running the app while in the drive through don’t corrupt the speed data on the adjacent road. Without that drive through segment, Waze would most likely “snap” the driver to Auburn Blvd and it would appear that there was a major slow-down.
I would say that this should stay. However, it is currently set up as a two-segment loop (yellow highlight). You will need to add another junction to the loop. If you have the Toolbox extension, select the segment or a junction and click the two-segment loop fix icon. (looks like an arrow goingf in a loop on a yellow background) If you don’t have Toolbox, draw a road segment that connects to a segment in the loop, creating a new junction. Then delete the new segment.
Cheers!

Thanks for the info. I spilt the segment and it got rid of one problem. Now it says unconfirmed turn on minor road. I’m looking for the purple arrow it mentions, but don’t see it.

This section of the wiki explains soft (unconfirmed) versus hard turns. https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Soft_and_hard_turns You will see a question mark by the junction node. You just need to click on one of the turn arrows to confirm the turns for that junction.

I finally got it! I had to do three segments and be sure the turns were at the corners…

Thanks Deltamanx and AquaZR1 for the info.

Looks good! You’ll need to get an R3+ editor to tie in this Parking Lot segment - although it looks like it’s connected, it’s not.

Sorry I can’t help. It’s out of my EA.
