Passageway / Narrow Street is used for very narrow roads or passages where transit with a regular car is limited, difficult, or practically unsuitable for general traffic.
When to use it?
Use it when the road:
- is so narrow that a regular car cannot comfortably pass,
- looks more like a passage than a regular road,
- serves mainly local access, yards, small alleys, or very limited transit,
- should not be easily suggested by Waze as a regular alternative route.
Caution
We don’t use it just because a road is slightly narrow.
If the road is narrow but is normally used by cars, then it should usually remain as a regular road, such as Street, depending on the case.
In simple terms
Passageway / Narrow Street is for roads that Waze should treat as limited use, not as a simple alternative route.
Example
A very narrow alley in a village, where a car passes with difficulty or only if access to a specific point is needed, can be set as Passageway / Narrow Street.
