Every night the RI DOT reports this segment as closed, and Waze ends up re-routing.
The segment is not closed; the DOT just wants people off the segment.
It’s dishonest.
It’s possible the closure was entered in error, or their construction plans changed. In any case, the closure has now expired, so it shouldn’t block Wazers anymore. We’ll keep a closer eye on the closures RIDOT enters and try to verify with them in the future. Thanks for letting us know!
