@bangus - i see! by the way, have you joined the Philippine Waze group in Facebook? Please join so we can have a more interactive and faster response to problems, and concerns. I’ve noticed that this thread takes about two to three weeks to pick up a response, hope us manila wazers can be in touch more often through our group page.

Guys! i encourage you to join! see you there!

gandang umaga mga pinoy!
anybody else having trouble updating maps? when i hit save, it reverts back to its prior state. tapos pag ginalaw ko uli, when i hit save, i get an error saying na the map changed while i was saving it.

I’d like to invite everyone to follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ManilaRoadRage

Also, please visit (and like) my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ManilaTrafficSolutions

I’ve been advocating improving traffic through better enforcement for a long time. Now I’m stepping up the fight. I have a lot of good ideas for reducing congestion and improving overall safety and civility. Traffic doesn’t have to be the way it is, but we need a loud, organized voice to force change.

I also think that Waze can be an important tool for solving the problem.

Please take the time to read my articles, and add your voice. We can change Metro Manila traffic in a few short months, if we get to work on it!

hi guys,

swisspound2 signing in… now ko lang nakita na may thread mga pinoy dito.

hope to learn from you guys…

from visayas ave qc,

would it be ok kung pwedeng mag post ng city name lang kung di alam yung street name para di maging pula yung mga daan?

hi swisspound, yes it is ok to leave the street name blank. it would only appear red on the map editor but on the phone it will be indistinguishable. however, leaving it red will draw attention from other editors who might be able to name it.
welcome to the pinoy waze forum!

gentlemen,
to add on the matter of leaving “red” roads on the editor:

these roads won’t appear in the client (our apps) and will not yet be routable…

your choice,
-if you wish it to appear & be routable on the succeeding tile/map update, tick the “NoCity” & “NoStreet” boxes…
-if you’d rather wait for someone to pick up on the work, leave it red then.

c",)

speeddzel, the red roads do appear on the phone client. i have encountered several that i think were results of some users “paving roads” while walking. the red roads that you dont see on your phone might be recent additions and have not been included in the map updates yet

sample:
https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat=14.44305&lon=120.95162&layers=BFTFTTTFTTFTFTTTTTTTFT
if you can scan for sm bacoor on your phone, a little further south you will see some roads with cookies

another one at the end of cavitex:
https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat=14.44935&lon=120.91453&layers=BFTFTTTTTTFTFTTTTTTTFT
you can find it on your phone

Hmmm, roger that bro… interesting… i see them alright.

err, has anyone verified if the the “client” (waze) will route through them? especially the red/cookie roads that have been edited & properly connected to the existing road network… with the exception of the “paved” only ones which usually are not yet properly connected or edited?
:?:

bro do you think we can ask the waze team to transfer this thread into the new Country Forum?

speeddzel, it seems that waze also routes through those “red roads” if they are properly connected and turn restrictions are correct. i happen to pass through an unconnected “squiggly” road and a violet line appeared on that portion. too bad i wasnt able to get a screen shot because i was driving.
