Is this a…:
Standard bug Steps to reproduce this issue:
While editing normally, at some point (often immediately) PP, AP or RPP will have “no address” listed even though WMEPH’s green color suggests otherwise. Selecting a permalink to the place and pasting into the address bar to refresh the view will result in the address being displayed. I have a screen capture displaying the bug but it will not upload to this report. I will try attaching it to the comments after I submit this report.
In the screen capture you can see I’ve selected an AP and no address is shown. I retrieve a permalink and paste and go into the browser address bar. After the reload, you can see the AP’s address now. The PL below is the instant problem for me, but on refresh it will fix itself so the PL is irrelevant. This happens to me on places throughout my editing area.
Do you have the same issue without scripts/extensions?
If not, try reprodcing the bug with one script loaded to see if the bug happens. Do this with each script you use to see which script may be causing the issue.
Thank you for following up. I have tried to follow @jm6087’s advice, but it’s difficult to prove a negative. Even with all scripts enabled, I can’t predict when an address won’t show up in a place’s details. For now I’ve disabled WMEPH. I’m guessing either it or PIE is the culprit, but again it’s difficult to be sure. I’ll keep checking and report back if I feel like I’ve found an answer. I was expecting to see something–anything–in the browser console when selecting a PP where the address is blank, but nothing there indicates what the issue might be.
The problem is how long do I spend in a script-less environment before I’m sure it was a script that caused it? Since I can’t reliably reproduce the issue at will, I don’t know when to say the issue is definitely not appearing. I think a more conclusive proof would be if I were to enable a script and immediately see the issue, but I tried that and didn’t get any result. In fact, I haven’t seen it in WME in quite some time. It’s possible a WME update fixed the issue. I’m continuing to test with and without scripts. I’ll report back if I’m able to recreate the issue at all.
