These are voice commands (NA only) and have been posted about before in several threads. Please search.

Thank’s for your reply but ice road warning could save lives !!!
I wish it would be enabled in the next possible version or at least prior to next winter.

Voice commands are not a good choice.
Are you living in Miami or LA. ?..Are you living in a country unfamiliar with snow, ice,… :smiley:

I’m in upstate NY … we know snow and ice here. :wink: As Alan (of Oregon ;)) said, search the forum, and you’ll find many threads that answer your question of why only a few options are included on the report menus. If using the already-included voice command to report ice does not work for you, you do have the option of selecting a different weather feature (such as “snow”) and then putting “ICE” in the comment field. (This is what I have to do because my phone doesn’t support the voice-command activation options.)

Why not? They work great for me, including for ice.

Well, that’s the only option for now. And, per other threads, Ice will probably not be added to select by tapping either. We’re aiming for “Slippery” or something like that which can apply to anything on the road which reduces traction. The list is limited in length for safety reasons.

I think the idea of putting these in the voice commands is so that someone driving in a dangerous situation isn’t trying to navigate a bunch of menus and submenus.

You should theoretically be able to just wave at the screen and scream “ICE!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, ICE!!!” and your report will be made.

The system still isn’t perfect.

Today, I think you can say, “ice hazard” or “report ice” and it should, theoretically, work.

Those combinations are certainly in the ASR files, don’t see why that wouldn’t.

Of course, voice commands will only work if you have them enabled in your Settings file … and if voice commands work with your phone. (It doesn’t work with mine, for some weird reason that no one at Waze has been able to figure out yet. :cry: )
