Hi, in Stamford, CT Blackwood Lane and Deming Lane are private roads. They city has made that clear and has left the owners to pave and maintain the road. We have added gates and signage. The section between Wire Mill Rd and Opper Rd as well as the length of the lanes to their dead ends is private and needs to be updated within the app. What is needed to get that updated?
I have set them to private, and this should go live in the app within a few days. Does this mean traffic from Opper cannot turn left to head down to Blackwood to Wire Mill?
If so, is this physically blocked so that you can’t turn right or go straight from Blackwood onto Opper too?
The road is not physically blocked completely. We have added gates and signage saying no left turn from Opper onto Blackwood and similarly no right turn coming up Blackwood turning to Opper. But residents are able to enter both Opper and Wire Mill. When I spoke with a local officer he told me our gates just needed to be spread enough to maneuver fire trucks which we did. Thank you!
Thanks for the confirmation - the app should be reflecting that behavior now. It will let those of you on Blackwood or Deming use Opper if that’s the faster route in/out of the neighborhood, but won’t let those living on Opper in/out of Blackwood.
