In Hillsdale, NY, there is a new sculpture garden called Berkshire Hills Sculpture Garden. The address SHOULD be: 82 County Route 7D, Hillsdale, NY. It currently only comes up as County ROAD 7D, but it has been verified with the local Fire Department, Ambulance, and Police services that they all refer to this road as “County ROUTE 7D”. So, this is the first necessary change.
Also, the actual marker for the address is in the wrong place on the map! The correct coordinates for the entrance to the Sculpture Garden property is: 42.25803 -73.50117. When the address is searched however, it pinpoints a location in a field North of the correct spot at: 42.26277 -73.50219.
Again, the issue is twofold: the pinpoint marker is in the wrong place, and the street name/street address must be changed from “82 County Road 7D”, to “82 County Route 7D”
Hi Isamfrye! No one previously submitted the sculpture garden to Waze, so it was pulling up the Google Maps results and coordinates.
I have added the garden and address to Waze and they now pop up in the corrected location. You need to first delete them from your Waze search history and favorites (including home / work if set), otherwise your app may remember that incorrect spot from GMaps. After deleting, search will bring up the corrected result (the wrong road name might display in search for a few days, but you’ll notice it’s correct in the window that pops up when you do click on it). Waze uses CR-## for county routes, but search knows that “CR” means “County Route” and will search correctly.
You’ll need to report the County “Road” issue and location of the address and sculpture garden to Google Maps to get that corrected there. A few of our editors edit the map on both, so I passed this on to them as well (but it always helps to have multiple people reporting the issue).
