I suspect many of wazers towards the top of the NZ points table are sales rep’s or similar and will have much higher “Existing Kilometers” ?

Feel free post your own results

Mine looks like …

I don’t do alot of non-local driving. There certainly are a couple of users that seem to be on the map every time I turn waze on, no matter what time of day. I assume alot of driving is involved in their job.

I was editing around the police college recently and noticed heavy GPS tracks - would be interesting to see a police wazer!

That’s a large number of cookie eater meters; do you go looking for them specifically?

No wazers in whangarei. Draw the road then drive it.

Have applied for a level 5 upgrade

running out of goals and roads

Running out of roads? Are you looking at a different map to the rest of us? Everywhere I look there are unnamed roads around the country that need to be finished properly - naming, alignment, turn restrictions. still plenty of work to do.

I should have said easy points

How about posting your points table

Is there a problem with the NZ Points table?
Or is the a reason why people can appear or disappear from the table?

A few weeks ago I lost 1 position 20->21 and I established that tsimola suddenly appeared at position 7 197,007 - more than 62,000 points above me. Is it possible to earn 60,000 points overnight?

Today I expected to gain 1 place 21->20 instead I moved up to 19! I discovered that this is due to user mattko with 248,099 points on 25July13 , 5th on table, is not on the NZ table today. Position 5 is now tsimola on 201348. This accounts for me gaining two places when I only passed one person.

Interested in hearing if others have seen this issue or know of the reasons for this.

Greetings from sunny Ireland,

I don’t keep an eye on the NZ scoreboard, but obviously I do pay attention to the local scoreboard here. It’s a bit disconcerting when people appear and disappear, often carrying large numbers of points, however my understanding is this:

When somebody moves from one country to another (even temporarily, like going there for a couple of weeks on a holiday) they bring their points with them and will pop up on their new country’s scoreboard and disappear from the scoreboard of the country they just left. I’ve seen this happen quite a few times on the Ireland scoreboard and was a bit perplexed at first.

I suspect that this is what you’re seeing - at least, it’s a reasonable explanation.

Cool. So I got to hope not too many high scoring WAZERS return to NZ. haha
thanks.

Conversely, I (a Yank) visited NZ, and it appeared that I lost a lot of points. They reappeared when I returned to California, but I don’t know if my point totals includes my NZ travels. (I have logged into the world.waze.com, I see 7065 points, and 15 screens of drives, from 22/2 to 11/3 … BUT, I show no Areas, AND when I click on the drive indication, it doesn’t highlight the drive, and I do remember where I was at that time.)

I was trying to look at a trip that I made from Rotorua to New Plymouth, where I kept getting indications that I was considerably off the mapped road, and I wanted to look at what the current map shows, but I see no travels for a fortnight, and I RELIED on Waze for directions, and I know that something ought to have been listed. When I tried to look at my “Area”, I see none.

Steve

Might be worth giving support a yell, I don’t know what happens when you change systems but I would expect you should be able to edit where you have been, but it may have only worked while you were still on the world server. (I know points don’t transfer between systems, but areas could be different)

I hope there were not too many places around the New Plymouth/Taranaki area that you were considerably off. I know there are a few of the larger roads outside of Taranaki that are out as until just recently (yay for google) the satellite imagery has been poor and/or required GPS traces in areas where there is no cellphone reception, but I’ve not had many problems with the Rotorua to New Plymouth trip, although I think most of my recent ones have been via the middle of the island first.
