Anyway we can post warning area in reference to the portable speed cameras that’s are set up in the construction areas in this area. The have been bouncing from approximately Security Blvd. to I-95 on the southwest section of I-695. These vehicles are small white Jeep Liberty with portable cameras set up in front of their vehicles.
Could report them as a police car, since it’s the same idea as a speed trap.
Yes but they have been there almost everyday for almost 2 years. This is a little more then just a pop up speed trap.
I report them as police too.
We have a few locations in the DC area where they like to setup too. But as they are not there every day, I find it useful to have the warning only from the wazers that have already passed the location today.
On the other hand, I don’t typically exceed the speed limit, so I’m not particularly worried about being the first wazer to see them.
The problem is that they move, police speed traps tend to set up in the same places, but as soon as they’re not there everyday making them static on the map would be a problem.
I brought this up a few months ago. It would REALLY be helpful if there were a report that says “Mobile Speed Camera” and would work just like a “hidden police” report. The camera reports that I mark as police tend to get Not There quite often.

I’ll agree with what Cbenson and Etienne-Allard have said:
They aren’t always there, and its nice to see the police pop-up and be reasonably sure they are there. -
Construction zones on the West and SW side of 695 should be done soon. They are done with the liberty and wilkens overpasses, and almost done with frederick rd overpass. The cameras shouldn’t be there much longer.
