How WAZE use the private roads for routing and what means that a street is a private street.
Private roads should be discarded when waze choose a route to destination, because those roads aren’t public and everyone can’t use them…
It is still possible that a private road might be used for navigation if there is no other possible route between your origin and destination! Can you post a permalink of the area in question so we can investigate why this might have happened?

When driving from Boulevard, Waze choose the route using the private roads of UCR, but this is incorect because not everyone can use them because they are private roads, the correct should be use the Fuente Hispanidad route. I think the problem is because using the private roads is the shortest and maybe also the fastest way to the destination, but it is a private road.
If you don’t take the turn of the suggested route then Waze recalculate and use the correct way.
I looked at the permalink, but could not find “Fuente Hispanidad” to save my life. Could you give us a definitive start and end point for this route? I’m trying to see if there are any errors on the map that could cause it to route down a private road instead.

Private roads have a higher penalty than regular streets.
Waze will take you through a private road only if it’s the only possible way or if it is set as the destination.
She has requested that if we find a route that uses a private road incorrectly, that we email alpha@waze.com examples.
That’s because the roads within the UCR campus are of type Street and Waze will route you along them like it would any other street. I have changed them to Private Roads. Once the Livemap updates Waze will route you correctly.
This looks like a possibility that the correct route is missing elements.
I see a lot of split boulevards here. If you are going to leave them split, make sure to set the directionality of each segment and lock them.
Make sure that side roads have connectivity to both directions if they can turn there.
At each intersection along the way, highlight them, enable all turns, then manually put in any valid turn restrictions.
Once this is done, then the route analysis routines have a better chance of matching up your route, and putting in valid speeds.
If after the segments get good route analysis, if you are still being routed over the private road, then possibly the penalty for going over private roads is not high enough.
Sorry for the delayed reply. I don’t know how to take a permalink with a route trace. Here I attach a screenshot with a route using the private road UCR.
To be exact UCR is a University Campus, the roads inside the campus are marked as private roads because only authorized people can use them (students, employees, etc). The problem is that WAZE is using them to make routes.
According with the attached picture the route should turn right in Circunvalación, then going down using the ramp next to Mall San Pedro, go using Rotonda Hispanidad and the turn left near Oliva Verde. Or use any other route, but avoid private roads.
About the roads marked as private roads, I see them in the cartouche as private roads.
Your destination can’t be reached by the roads to the south of it.
The East bound direction of the unnamed primary street does not connect with the unnamed segment the destination is on. Also just to the west you have an intersection that the servers have not seen or been told which ways you can travel through.
Both of these are giving the routing server a no win situation from a “non-private” route, so it is falling back to using a “possible” route through private roads.
I personally probably would not have just a four lane non separated road split into two one ways, as it causes intersection issues like this. But that is up to convention chose by your country (check the wiki for any discussion for your country)
So to fix this, you either need to connect the destination road to the east bound direction with a jumper segment or consolidate the two one ways into one two way so you can use the existing junction. Check connectivity of every segment along your route, and fix the turn restrictions. And also suggest locking any one ways to help with turn restrictions and to keep the auto adjusting tools from flipping one ways into two ways.

Mi casa está en Pozos de Santa Ana. Lo que pasa es que cuando vengo por la Ruta 27, Waze me dice que me salga en la salida del Condominio Villa Real, lo cruce completamente, y salga por una salida que tiene ese mismo condominio del lado de Pozos. Si yo pudiera usar esa ruta duraría 5-10 minutos menos, pero lo que el mapa ignora es que las calles de Villa Real son privadas y que únicamente pueden entrar los condóminos. Cómo se manejan estos casos? Requiere una modificación del mapa?

Las calles internas del Condominio Villa Real en Santa Ana están como calles privadas. Waze no debería enrutar a través de esas vías si el destino es afuera de la zona privada.
Waze ocupa tener conexión a Internet para que el servicio de rutas funcione adecuadamente. Si la ruta se calcula en la app sin conexión a Internet es posible que se ignore la característica de calle privada.
También sería posible que se sugiera esa ruta si el punto de llegada está ubicado muy próximo a una calle de la zona privada.
Si nos puedes enviar más información sobre el problema, sobre todo por donde te hace ingresar, por donde te hace salir y en dónde se ubica el punto de llegada con mucho gusto podríamos ver cómo resolver el problema.

Hola, ya vi el problema. Mi Condominio se llama Bosques de Carao y está justo al lado de Villa Real. El mapar indica que la vía de acceso a mi condominio es parte de Villa Real, cuando esas calles son en realidad calles públicas.
Aquí les paso el permalink con las 2 calles que se indican como privadas, que en realidad son públicas.
Yo no puedo hacer el cambio. Alguien podría ayudarme a corregir este mapa?

Resulta que WAZE me ha estado tirando por las calles internas de la UCR, cuando el acceso a las mismas en restringido. Cuando reviso el mapa aparece que las mismas son privadas, no sé como se podrá corregir ese problema.

Según entiendo las calles de la UCR están marcadas como privadas y no debería WaZe dar ruta por estas, sin embargo últimamente han habido problemas con el enrutamiento.
Ya se ha comunicado en varias ocasiones en distintos foros el problema estámos a la espera de soluciones por parte de WaZe.

Una pregunta sobre el problema. Le ocurre al inicio del viaje? Es decir, cuando la ruta se calcula por primera vez incluye el trayecto por dentro de la universidad o el problema sucede durante el viaje, por ejemplo al conducir cerca de la entrada la ruta se recalcula y sugiere atravesar la Universidad?
Sucede cualquier día o sólo los días con restricción?
Entre más información tengamos sobre el problema más le podemos dar al equipo de Waze para identificar y resolver el problema.

El enrutamiento según el mapa parece estar bien, porque el usuario se encuentra ya dentro de la zona privada. Sin embargo, parece que esa parte por donde lo estaba enviando corresponde a una zona de carga/descarga y que la ruta correcta sería por la otra entrada, “la principal”.
Se modificó el mapa, la parte que parece ser carga/descarga se puso como parking lot, para evitar que desde dentro de la zona privada lo envíe a salir por ahí. También se marcó el parqueo del frente.
