I ran into an issue on Tuesday. I wanted to go to Port-Louis (Morbihan - 56); since there was a night market that day and I know it is hard to park in the area, I wanted to park near the Museum. The problem is that there are two possible names for the Museum: either the “National Maritime Museum” or the “Museum of the East India Company.” I chose the “National Maritime Museum” as my destination. I didn’t notice right away that Waze was redirecting me to a point named “Le Sémaphore” — same location but not the same access on Waze. I was surprised to be going back through Lorient to reach Port Louis (I foolishly followed Waze), and it was only when I arrived at the ferry terminal that I realized the mistake.
I definitely have the route option enabled to avoid ferries, so I am quite surprised to have ended up at the Lorient pier with Waze telling me to take to the sea…
Is this a map issue? The route suggested across the harbor seems to be clearly marked as a ferry route, so it shouldn’t normally be proposed. Or is there just a problem with the naming of the destination? “Le Sémaphore” is linked to the museums; furthermore, the address point doesn’t suggest any nearby parking (even though there is some).
