Hi, following up on recent discussions on Discord (started by @Ltdan74MX), for the past few weeks I’ve noticed a difficulty (even impossibility) in finding RPPs or POIs in the Waze app (iOS and Android). GMaps results show up but not Waze’s, unless you click an additional button (and it’s not at all intuitive).
This is starting to generate URs (notably from private individuals wanting their homes to be correctly identified in Waze), but it also raises questions about the POIs we add that ultimately don’t show up in the app.
Is this a bug? A feature change?
Example 1:
Address: 3 rue du Relais - 28170 SERAZEREUX
RPP Creation: 02/01/2026
When searching for the address in the app, here is what appears:
The first and only result is a GMaps location, which leads to the wrong destination (I’ve requested a change on the GMaps side, pending processing):
However, when you click on “More results for”, the result is indeed the Waze RPP created on 02/01/2026.
Example 2:
Address: Vaupoisson Town Hall - Rue de la Mairie - 10700 VAUPOISSON
POI Creation: 21/12/2025
Here is what appears when searching in the app. It’s the same issue: there is only one GMaps result which points to a street and not the Town Hall establishment.
When you click the “More results for” option again, the result is indeed the Waze POI created on 21/12/2025.
This behavior is very concerning because a user’s instinct when searching for a destination—and only one result is displayed—is to click directly on that result. In the case of Example 1, this leads to a location 20 minutes away from the destination…
