We did find a mistake on the global Wiki after that post (and it has been reported to the proper authorities to be fixed).
One difference of ramps vs AGC, is Keep Left vs Exit Left. mH+ to mH+ will generate a Keep Left, where as mH+ to Ramp (or any non-highway segment) will generate an Exit To. So that’s something else to keep account of.
So times to use ramp:
- Grade Change
- When connector has a long name, that needs to be suppressed to prevent it being rendered in the ramp
- When we want to generate an Exit vs Keep command when going between highway segments.
For the last one, in my mind most of the connectors I’ve seen the Keep command is just fine based on the SV. But that opinion might not be shared by everyone, or might be wrong based on spending most of my time working in one geographic area.
