PUR Solved Button Deletes Venue - DOES NOT MATCH SEARCH

These PURs are generated when a user reports a Venue in app under the Doesn’t match search results selection

PURs then show in WME as having the Flag Reason as: 'DOES NOT MATCH SEARCH
[line][/line]
The PUR has 2 resolution buttons, Ignore Flag and Solved

Pressing Solved will delete the venue!
[line][/line]
This is either unintended behavior of the solved button, or the button is actually meant to say Delete Place like the Closed Place Flag Reason uses

Example PUR with this flag (this one is a gas station part of a feed, which is a risky accidental delete):

This can probably also use better localization for Flag Reason in WME to not be in all caps and describe the issue better

Have you posted t his in Discuss, since this comes from the app?

Which part is app related? I think this is two different WME issues, rather than an app issue.

The big issue is that clicking Solved results in the place being deleted.

I think the second issue is a translation issue in WME. The issue description does not provide useful information as to what the actual problem is.

The part where the OP said “when a user reports a Venue in app under the Doesn’t match search results selection”
Could be a WME issue, could be the result coming from the app.

The action where the Venue gets deleted happens in WME.

The button in WME says “Solved” and the action WME performs is “Delete”. Looks like a WME issue, doesn’t it?

My mistake. I need to learn to read better, lol. So the button DELETES the venue, that’s the part I skipped. Yes, that would be a WME issue. I’m not going to try to reproduce this, since it’s a one way problem. Issue created for staff, thanks.

Yarr, that’s why we’re lurking in the comments

Thank you!

Changed the font the emphasize what the issue is

Issue in WME:
The PUR type has 2 resolution buttons, Ignore Flag and Solved

Pressing Solved will delete the venue!
This is either unintended behavior of the solved button, or the button is actually meant to say Delete Place like the Closed Place Flag Reason uses

I can verify this. I got one of the PUR flagged place ‘DOES NOT MATCH SEARCH’ yesterday on a gas station. I corrected the information on the gas station and then clicked “Solved.”

I didn’t know that it would delete the gas station! I had to re-create it from scratch and it lost it’s feed.

Here is the Permalink to the new PP I had to add back:

Thanks,
Major

Hi Everyone,

Could you please assist with the investigation of this case and answer the following question: Have you encountered this issue before, or has it just started appearing recently?

Does it happen only for the reason “Does not match search”?

Nataliia

@Nataliia_Staff

I’ve only been actively editing again for about 4 months, but the instance I reported was the first time I have seen that PUR Flag “Does not match search”

In my area, we don’t get a lot of URs, PURs and such so I can’t say if it is happening with other flags but I’ll keep my eyes open for more.

Thank you Majorjc_MS for the reply.

Let’s keep an eye on this case.

Yes it is all instances of that PUR type. If you click Solved, the place will be deleted when you click Save, but there is no indication to the user that the place will be deleted.

This is a different Flag, but it has the same “Solved” button.

This PUR Flag is “Wrong details”

I’m assuming it will delete the place if “Solved” is clicked on?

I’ve clicked solved on that one before and it doesn’t delete the place

I’m a little gun-shy about hitting that “Solved” button after the last time. At least this one is not attached to a feed.

You can always click “Solved” and then check what happened before you Save.

In the case of the " does not match search" PUR, the save list doesn’t say it’s going to delete the place, it just says “Accep PUR”. It’s not until you actually hit save that you watch the police disappear

Also commenting that places flagged as Inappropriate also show Ignore and Solved

Solved will delete the place, and it is not mentioned anywhere that it will do so
