Hey all, I am new to editing (just signed up on Thursday). I have a question about editing. I have added a ton of parking lots and fixed about 15 roads since thursday (areas that I knew weren’t correct). It says on my dashboard that I have 42,000 points but 0 edits? Can someone either help or point me in the right direction so that I can start working my way up the ladder? I travel the country and can add a lot to the app but need to find out where I’m going wrong. I’m posting here because I live in CDA. Thanks in advance!
The Parking lot I looked at was added as a map comment, not as a place.

Welcome to the hobby of map editing, Drivnmecr8zy. We’re very glad to have you. The learning opportunities are literally infinite and the challenges are as easy or difficult as you want them to be. But out of the gate, there’s quite a bit to learn. Every editor had to start somewhere, so please don’t hesitate to ask questions - we’re a very cooperative community.
Edits usually take a day or two to be reflected in your profile, but moreso I’d encourage you to focus on the details of learning map editing as the promotions (other than to rank 2) are not determined by the number of edits, but instead by the quality of edits (volunteer managers and coordinators promote based on merit beginning at rank 3).

As @steelpanz mentioned, the edit counts are only refreshed, at most, once a day. Sometimes there are delays up to a week, but don’t fret–Waze knows every edit you make and you’ll be credited. The points are mainly for the scoreboard within the app itself, but you do also earn points by editing. Here’s all you could ever want to know about points and ranks.
