Good Afternoon!
Quirino Hiway is allowed to passthrough across Mindanao Ave (using the miniature rotonda)
I regularly pass Quirino Hiway then turn right to Mindanao going to NLEX.
The system always routes me to kingspoint when going straight is actually possible.
I checked here and true enough, it is indicated as not allowed.
This area is pretty hard to explain. Please bear with me.
All turns are actually allowed. Just as long as you follow the rotonda.
However, since the rotonda is pretty small, area is prone to a circular standstill traffic*.
What traffic enforcers do is to ignore the rotonda and treat it like an intersection.
When traffic is moving, no enforcers are present, you must follow the rotonda.
- the one where the start of the traffic is blocked by the tail of the traffic.
Lock lowered for you ma’am, pls let me us know when your done. Curious what you see and what will do for the intersection.
I can’t change the red to green. Baka kulang yung naselect ko. Sorry.
I just plan to allow crossing Mindanao using Quirino.
The rotonda is quite hard to explain in routing.
How do we fix this?
Kasi I talked to someone here (I forgot who)
He (or she) suggested that we ignore the rotonda. Kasi gugulo lang kung nilagay. Instead, make it appear to be just a regular intersection.
Observing the behavior of that spot, I agree. Gugulo lang routing kung nilagay pa yung rotonda.
However, the government placed a no left turn and no uturn sign there. (The sign supposedly is for motorists to follow the rotonda. The purpose of the sign is for motorist to not contradict the rotonda flow)
The said sign would make sense if a rotonda is placed. It certainly would not make sense in an intersection setup.
The signs (no left turn and uturn), I think, are what confuses the Wazers.
I attached a file to explain it better.
It’s a rotonda with uturn slots on North and South.
This is the original intension of the setup.
But since the rotonda is too small, it creates a circular traffic congestion (where the head of the traffic is blocked by its tail).
Now, the paths in green are allowed. Paths in yellow are not.
In reality, it’s “ignore the signs and follow the police” culture.
Wazers will report this as a map problem. Imagine being unfamiliar with the area. You follow Waze to the service road. Then Waze instructs you to turn left just when you see the no left turn sign (tapos may pulis pa nakaabang sa kabilang side).
People unfamiliar will think the route must be to take the Mindanao underpass, uturn, take service road, turn right. However, Mindanao traffic (50% of the time) is really hell and motorists would save a lot of time if they use this rotonda.
What do you think?
Hi!
I stand corrected.
When from HBC side Quirino, pass through is NOT allowed. You have to exit to Mindanao and uturn.
Yung opposite side, pwede naman.
I tried passing by there 2 nights ago. Bawal pala.
Marami lang pasaway kaya akala ko pwede.
Sorry about that.
Anyway, I just need to make this green (see attached)
No problemo Rochelle, it is appreciated that you are trying to improve the map. It is appreciated more that you did not willy-nilly just edit this major thoroughfare and still tried to confirm the correctness of your planned edit. It speaks volume of what kind of editor you are :ugeek:
If you still feel like discussing this area, I think the editors familiar here are Kazmuth, Speeddzel and nazarenojacosalem.
The direction restriction has been allowed along 127: Quirino hwy.
I noticed it earlier today. This area is okay. Thank you Jed!
Yun nga lang. Sana tanggalin na nila yung misleading the no left turn and uturn signs.
Thank you too for your efforts in making this map pretty accurate.
