I often find myself using Google Maps for the 2D top down wide view of traffic.

I’d like to suggest a quick toggle - where you could quickly flip from 3d to 2d and back.
This way I could get a far ahead view of traffic in 2D form and then back to 3d.
Often times the 3D view info doesn’t give me enough read ahead to make my decisions, so I resort to 2D.
Just a thought.
If you go to settings it’s right on top on “Quick Settings” 2D and 3D have you tried that? It’s way faster than opening google maps. Let me know 
With an iPhone, a double-tap on the Home button allows you to quickly shift between apps.
Yeah, I see that, but that is mainly to change to overall look of the map…
What I am talking about is, while I’m driving, a quick means to get a wide top-down look of the road, which flips back to 3D.
I’d imagine similar to the center on me icon – push something like that to have the 2D view and when pushed again (or released) back to 3D mode. This way, you could just quickly verify everything is going the way you last saw - without navigating (the simple) but, while driving, complex map settings menu
I do my “planning” in 2D mode and “driving” in 3D mode. Just can’t get my attack plan for traffic from the 3D mode.
