In Costa Rica, we have a well-organized community in constant communication for the ongoing handling of events and map changes. If you have already used the app in the country, you should already have editing permissions for the area where you have driven and its surroundings.
For any change you wish to make that you see is locked, do not hesitate to contact us through this channel to request change approval or an unlock. Otherwise, you can handle user reports or place updates in your editing area.

I’m currently living in the United States and I’m part of the editing community in NJ.
The situation is that I was invited to participate in the G3 migration-pre beta tester; when I migrated the app, I lost my Costa Rica navigation history and consequently my unlocked areas. The support team told me to get in touch with the AM/CMs to have the areas unlocked for me.
I’ve seen that the community in CR is indeed very nice and organized, and naturally, I’d love to be able to edit areas near my hometown since they need a lot of work, and become part of the team.
I’ll be looking out for any recommendations, and I really appreciate your help in advance.

Also, you can request to add or make changes to places directly from the Waze app itself. Use the report feature and choose the “Place” option, then follow the on-screen instructions.
