Hi,
Waze is giving the wrong direction when navigating to 5858 Edison place. It tells you to use the street below it (Owens), and this building is inaccessible that way. I had solved this issue when I created a parking lot road joining the turn around with the business parking lot but someone deleted it. Now it’s back to giving the wrong direction. Why was my edit deleted? What’s the best practice to fix this issue. I’d like to do it myself I’d just like to be told how to fix it so no one deletes my change again.
Hello Anonymous user! The way Waze does routing to an address, is it sends the address to Google and google returns the GPS coordinates for that address, and then Waze routes to the nearest point on a road for that location. In your case, it looks like that point is closer to Owens than Edison, which is why it routes you there. You can request Google move the pinpoint for that address to the front entrance of the building (instead of the back side) to help fix that issue. More details are in the FAQ:

Ok, now having said that, drawing in the parking lot there will help. I couldn’t tell you for sure, but the most likely reason what you drew in was deleted was because you failed to complete the roads (so they were bright red on the map). Since you don’t have a screen name, there’s no way for an editor to contact you directly, so they probably just deleted the improperly drawn in roads. Also, we don’t use parking lot landmarks for private parking lots that serve a building. See:

Ok, great first step. a couple things need to be changed:
- The segment going from the road to the parking lot should also be set as parking lot road type
- See how the new sections you added are bright red? That means they’re not yet complete. You need to go in and add the city name, and since these are parking lot segments, you need to check the box for no street name. Once those are set, they should turn from red to light gray.
