Hello there,
I have a new segment which requires to be connected up to the existing road on it’s north end.

The San Thomas Expy North needs the “straight ahead” arrow turned on at the intersection smack in the middle of that permalink. This segment was added to allow for a u-turn at this point.
I return the intersection back to the original configuration… The U-turn is enabled at the intersection - see the green u-turn icon.
Currently Waze does not use/give a “U-Turn” instruction in the client.
Oh - ok. I figured that because on a non-split street, like you’ve said, since the client doesn’t give a u-turn instruction, the best way to make it possible is to split the street so it’s a “sharp turn” as opposed to a u-turn. I know the routing engine will route via a “u” turn if it’s split.
Is doing it this way (splitting it) not a good idea? I don’t ask to bother, just to learn because I thought it would make sense to do it this way.

Wouldn’t this situation fall under
"U-turns are required to properly make turns that are blocked by a median."
The u-turn IS allowed at the node. Now the question is when will Waze utilize that node u-turn! So there is nothing we need to do in the map.

Let’s hope Waze gets the u-turn routing up and running shortly!
