Rank 4, Milwaukee, WI

Need this segment changed to 1 way or have restrictions put on it so you can only travel WEST. Eastbound is closed as of this morning and will be for quite a while as it’s under major construction.

I’m only rank 2 so I can’t do it myself.

Thanks.

Can you please supply any link pointing to the work and what is closed.

I’ve adjusted that specific segment under US-45 to one-way westbound. Is there any more of the road that is closed, or is it just the segment between the ramps?

I already have some emails in to the local DOT. Their websites suck and don’t list any info on the closures or anything.

Sounds good. Here’s hoping they can provide something useful.

Here’s the response I got:

The Silver Spring work will be done in 2 stages. The eastbound lanes of Silver Spring will be closed for an estimated 4 weeks to complete removing and repaving of all eastbound lanes. Once the eastbound lanes are complete, the westbound lanes will be constructed and this is estimated to take 4 weeks as well.

They didn’t say anything about where the closure starts and ends, did they? Shoot.

well I know it starts right at the on ramp to the freeway since I drive that way to work most mornings. Not sure where it ends on the other side though. I’ll head home that way tonight if I remember and see what it looks like.

Well, the road is closed form the on ramp to go south to Hwy 100. So, this piece should also be made a 1 way street going West as you are no longer able to turn east from the off ramp:

No official word on when it will be switched over to the other side though.

Yeah, I noticed the turn restriction when I was driving through that area on US-45 this weekend. I’ve adjusted that second segment. It also looked like they had a lane open going eastbound to get to the southbound off-ramp, but that’s where eastbound accessibility stopped. As you said, not sure when it will switch over, but I think we have it right at least for now.
