As part of the FC process I’m also evaluating whether certain roads can be unsplit. Page Mill Rd in Palo Alto, between I-280 and the Junipero Serra/Foothill intersection, appears to qualify. So I’d like to unsplit it and then raise it to Major Highway as per Caltrans FC spec.
However doing so will require a fair bit of work at the I-280 interchange, all of which is currently locked at 5 (with a couple of 4’s).
If my plan sounds OK, I’d be grateful for a unlock to my current rank of 3. Thanks!
Lowered to 3. Have at it. Let me know when everything is done, so it can be locked again beyond the range of less informed fiddlers.
OK! I have gone over this several times and I think it’s ready for the ages. Given the unsplit, the previous permalink won’t work, so here is a new one to lock at 5 that is functionally the same as before. It may have been a bit aggressive before but I think it’s OK to lock all these at 5.

Wow. The straight north path on Page Mill is restricted there. Is that right?!? Anyway, it’s lowered. Rats. I forgot to notice who the editor was who locked that.

The straight north path was restricted as a byproduct of my unsplitting op last night combined with the lock on that one segment. I think we caught it before this afternoon’s capture, phew!
The editor shown as having locked it was my Santa Cruz AM colleague wazXorz but he is Rank 3 so I have no clue how the segment got locked at 5…
