Re-opening closed roads after Florence

Hi all.

I’m attempting to get some updates to my area regarding road closures and openings after hurricane Florence. specifically at this time I am trying to get a section of Bethel Baptist Church Road opened. it has been usable and drive-able for a few days now, but the Wazer that closed it, closed it through the end of the month.

I am new enough that i do not have permissions to open it.

I am sure this will come up more often in the next few days. Is there any way to expedite or simplify the process?

Hello -

I just opened that section of Bethel Baptist Church Rd (in Harnett County) on the Waze map. Thanks for relaying the information!

We are using the NCDOT’s published road closures as the primary source of information as to which roads are closed, and for how long. We are seeing many instances of roads no longer being flooded, and Waze users are reporting the roads reopening before NCDOT is aware.

I think It’s going to be common. NCDOT has a big role ahead of them.
