Spicewood Trails is a recent new home subdivision in Spicewood TX that isn’t showing up in Waze. We’re going to be building a home there, but can’t drive it due to the current Pandemic (we live 15 hours away current).
We don’t know anyone down there that could help add the addresses for the streets, and we don’t live there so I can’t edit it (I just edited the map not realizing that I didn’t have permissions to save). I’d be happy to edit it if I had permission. We want to make sure construction crews, etc. can find it. What can we do?
The subdivision is off highway 71 in Burnet County.
Entrance: 30.4869992,-98.2093579
The satellite imagery shows the roads when they were under construction.
I’ve added the subdivision based on the information you provided (thank you very much!), and data from Burnet County. It should reach the mobile devices within the next couple of days. Burnet County does not list all the house numbers within the subdivision yet, so if you do not find yours there, it might be because I was not able to track it down at this time. Feel free to let us know which address might be missing, we’ll get it added.
I’ve also marked the entrance off of SH-71 as private, and the same off of Double Horn Road to the North. I’m not sure if it’ll be a gated community, but as it looks like it’s still being constructed, this will help stop folks being routed through it from SH-71 to Double Horn Rd. This will not impact driving to any of the potential addresses in the subdivision.
As for editing, if you feel you want to contribute to the Waze community, we’d love to have you aboard. At a level 1, you’ll have editing rights within a mile of your driving path, so when you travel to your new location you’ll be able to edit there. Feel free to join our South Central Region Discord Chat Server, you’ll find lots of other editors in our region.
Below are some other resources and tools for map editing in Waze.
The entrance off of Double Horn Road I’ve confirmed will be gated. There is no gate yet, but it’s coming soon to prevent drive throughs just as you mentioned.
The county, we were told, does not assign house numbers until a permit is pulled for the building process. So, we don’t have one yet.
