Red Light Cameras

I keep seeing alerts for red light cameras in & around Huntington/Barboursville, particularly along Route 60 between 31st Street & the Huntington Mall, among other areas.

Not sure who keeps allowing those on the map, because according to the West Virginia page:

Based on information researched at the time this page was created, red light and speed cameras are prohibited statewide in West Virginia.

No other camera types should be mapped in Waze.

§17C-6-7a of the West Virginia Code prohibits use of cameras to detect or prove traffic law violations.

I am not a high enough editor to remove them myself, so if anyone else could remove them, that would be very helpful to my drive.

For some reason people think that the traffic light sensors are red light cameras. I have a problem in my area where people continuously submit red light cameras for approval too.

I wish their was a way to communicate with these reporters to tell them these are not cameras and to cease their submitting of them.

I deleted them. We can always use more editors in WV. Let me know if you are having issue editing anything in WV.

Same around Wheeling…people have almost every major intersection marked with a camera.
