Remove Bakers Bridge rd, Victoria from routes

Is it possible to have this road removed from the suggested routes? There is an old section of road over a small creek or something that has lifted a lot and is dangerous to drive over. I have to slow down to about 10kph to go over it and there’s no signs or warnings and could lead to wheel damage. I’ve reported it for repair but it isn’t getting fixed. This road shouldn’t be used for normal routes.

Hi thanks for your request and by the sounds of it the bridge needs reparing. It must have deterioted rapidly from the March 2023 street view. Unfortunatlye we can remove roads for poor road conditions. As you have done the roads authority needs to be contacted for them to attend to it. The road appears to serve properties along it. We dont have the road promoted any more than a local road and while I dont for one minute doubt your experience was as you described there isnt a lot we can do aside from place a closure on it - do you have any links or references or is it likely it will be closed? If its as you describe I cant imagine the authorities would want to keep it open.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve reported it through Vicroads multiple times but my thought is it’s mainly a rural road and most 4x4 or farm machinery won’t be effected so there’s probably minimal people effected. There wouldn’t be a lot of traffic normally on this road either.

I don’t think you’d see much on street view, it’s like where the bridge is, the lip where it meets the road has lifted by a couple of inches. In a normal sedan at the speed limit, it’s very savage.

Google maps doesn’t recommend this route but Waze does so was just seeing if there was some way to make it not the preferred route. It’s no faster than the motorway and some routes I’ve used, it’s recommended this way and it’s a longer way.

I’ll report it again and thanks for the reply.

Since this is not a highway, it likely belongs to the local council rather than VicRoads. If VicRoads doesn’t do anything, it may be worth contacting the council about it instead.
