Reporting While Driving

When we’re driving down a road, we can usually see things on the other side of the road that haven’t been added to the map. For example, the accident you just saw happen on the other side of the highway. Now if you spot police on the other side of the road, there is an “other side” option, but not for accidents, cars stopped on shoulder, etc. Another great addition would be the ability to mark something, specifically police or an accident, in the median between the lanes of a highway. If I’m headed down the highway and there is a police unit in the median, is that on my side, or is that the other side? Which one do I choose? Why not add the option to mark that police car, or that accident, in the median for both sides at once. And not with a flag showing on this side and that side, a different indicator showing that the flagged object/event is in the median. This way traffic in both directions get a notification of something coming up they need to be aware of and they will know where it is so the driver is not watching on the side of the road, but in the median where the issue is. This would also help the big trucks plan for where they need to be when approaching the situation. Right now that big truck pulling a, or several, trailers is passing a car, sees an accident approaching and doesn’t realize it’s in the median. Now they have to stop, or nearly stop, to get into the right lane and this causes traffic back ups. If they knew ahead of time this accident is in the median they may make a different decision to pull out and pass. Adding this ability would increase situational awareness for everyone on the road. Please considering adding this.
