Reports Appear to be Blocked

I’ve only been introduced to Waze in the last few weeks and have appreciated the opportunity to report hazards such as potholes etc, especially as the area around Port Stephens / Hunter Valley has been inundated with rain, as has much of the state. I have found that after initially being able to report potholes, these no longer seem to be getting through, with reports made but not on the maps even a few minutes later. Has my account been blocked and if so, why, and what can be done to release it.

There are still multiple potholes around Port Stephens LGA which are not appearing on the maps causing many cars to swerve at the last minute. I appreciate not many are probably using Waze but for those that do, having a warning is very useful.

Hey world_w3hfih41,

We’re a community of volunteers here, so for privacy reasons we cannot access your account. It is more likely, however, that you’ve been rate limited. To prevent abuse, Waze limits the frequency you can report hazards. If it looks suspicious, it may temporarily prevent new hazards. Unfortunately, there’s undesirables out there and some safety mechanisms need to be in place.

I would recommend you focus on, and only report, the very big potholes. The average driver doesn’t need to know every single pothole for example. I’m really pleased to read you’re making good use of the Waze app and helping drivers in your local area. Thank you for your kindness.

Drive safe!

Thanks again.
