I would like to request the ability to manually add friends based on usernames.
I know at least two other waze users, one of which recommended it to me, but he uses Fakebook exclusively while I do not use it at all, so even if I add the info of him to my contacts, I cannot add him as friend. However, I know the user name.

You can use his/her phone number instead, make shure to change it in your phone book in international format by adding +52… (Depending on your country int code) that way it will show in the add friends

Tried that already, but seems he doesn’t have the/that phone number used for his account…
A friend (on iOS) could add me as well as another coworker, but, despite having the exact same contact informations (name, all email addresses and phone numbers) in my contacts, I could add neither. (I could accept the request from that friend, though.)
Maybe connecting with contacts on CyanogenMod is broken?
I never use the Android thingy for anything important anyway, so I don’t normally fill out any contacts/people info… manually adding friends by username (on the website, or even in the app if must be) would be okay for me.
Nope, you have to put the phone number in international format in you phone book then head on to Waze and they will appear in the contact list

I have all phone numbers on all phones in international format. There does nothing appear in the contact list, period.
I’ve borrowed a friend’s iPhone, logged myself into Waze on his device, added the phone numbers from my Android device, and could add people as friends.
So this is clearly broken on some/many (I’ve seen several similar bugreports) Android devices.
Hence, my request for a place (e.g. on the website) where I can enter a friend’s phone number and add them.
Same problem for me. All my contacts are with international number, and can’t see any of them. A friend was able to add me, and I was not able to see him. We are both using Android apps
