Despite being an amateur editor, this is a signifcant closure and I don’t want to attempt it! Can someone apply the closure please?
It is a main route in and out of Hinckley which is now closed due to sewer works - 10/04/2017 to 25/08/2017. This is causing signifcant disruption and Waze is still directing traffic down there.

Hi there, I added this closure this morning just before 9am following a UR alerting us to the closure (maybe from yourself).
It is currently shown on the LiveMap and in my version of the App. My App seems to be respecting the closure when routing to roads around it.

In addition to this closure, the sign posts do state the surrounding roads are for residents access only and they are becoming extremely busy. Waze currently directs you down these roads to avoid the closure.
There are various complaints across social media about this, I wonder if Waze could divert traffic from the area entirely during the closure or is that trying to solve something that’s not ‘our’ problem :)?
Changing the map to prevent non local access is technically possible but would be a pain and wouldn’t take affect for a day or two (or longer if the server updates are slow). This would also have to be changed back once the closure is gone. The closure will automatically clear without the need for an editor to touch it.
As the app is a driving aid, the ultimate decision is the responsibility of the driver. If the local signage gives drivers a dedicated diversion then it should be followed. There is no way for us to plot a ‘best’ diversion around a closure.
