Before I get myself too far into the editing of roads that are outside City/Town/Village limits in my area, I’d like to know how these roads are being handled in other parts of the UK. I know that if a group of roads gets labelled with the same City in previously uncharted territory, then the map tiles will show a shaded area representing that settlement.
Should the City details be filled in at all for roads that are not within a settlement?
I think the general consensus is that roads that are not in a City/Town/Village should have the City field left blank. Ideally the City field should only be used up to where the Welcome to Blahblahville/speed limit signs are.
