I have just logged onto the WME this morning to see a whole flurry of UR’s about the exit numbers on roundabouts being wrong. I seem to recall this was an issue with a previous beta release. It seems it may have now “got loose” on the normal users.
Anyone have more details?
Where can I report this to get HQ to see it?
Was it the voice that gave the wrong exit, or the route display, do you know? On my commutes I haven’t heard any wrong exits, but I haven’t looked at the screen to see if that said any different. I’ll try to keep an eye out.
It is all the number in the middle of the roundabout sign, top left on the screen. So far I have had 8, all from last night. (although I suspect several were from the same person at different roundabouts)!
I have not had any reports of the voice instruction being wrong.
I’ve dealt with some this morning which turned out to be from a Beta tester who thought that raising Map Issue reports is the proper way to report problems with the Beta version of the app.
You may find I’ve closed four of the eight you have been looking at! ![]()
I can confirm that the Beta app doesn’t handle roundabouts correctly. Beta users should be giving the Waze developers feedback on https://goo.gl/LLUR0W (shortcut to the correct thread on waze.centercode.com). <where’s the pointless headbanging icon?>

I had one recently where the roundabout graphic (top-left) was wrong and indicated an incorrect angle and incorrect number of exits drawn - but the exit number itself inside the graphic was correct.
I have had a few odd images of the roundabouts, but running the beta, I expect that.
What concerned me was this now seems to have got into the main version. I had another report this morning.
I loaded Waze onto a new phone a few days ago, from the Play Store site and it loaded up the latest beta. :?
FWIW, I haven’t had any incorrect roundabouts. Maybe it’s an android version glitch? I’m on iPhone.
That would match my experience too.
The issue I was looking at was from an Android user.
Here’s the screenshot:
Note the fact the graphic shows it as nearly 360 degrees when it’s much less that that; and what’s that red segment on the left?
Reminds of something similar a year or so ago when the instructions were being affected by the angle of the entry/exit segments rather than just where they connected.
Is that first exit connected to the same node as the in segment? That can cause problems in the count. Do you have a PL for the roundabout?

That looks like an issue with the dynamic arrows, I know that they are currently working on them, but people need to look at centercode for more information…

No - all entry/exits are as you would expect.

I’ve got one in Somerset which I can’t see anything wrong with - https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=-3.19148&lat=50.97257&layers=15333&zoom=7&mode=0&mapProblemFilter=0&mapUpdateRequestFilter=0&venueFilter=2&segments=121213486,121213482
i did notice that one of the roads onto the roundabout was two way with a no right turn to it, but this has not fixed the problem both in the editor or in the app.
Any thoughts?
I can’t see anything basically wrong, but the current thinking seems to be that the junctions with the roundabout should be more right angles than sweeping curves. I have seem some that just straighten the roads (the app will never notice) I think this is part of the issues with the latest release of the app which seems to use the junction angle to do some calculation.
and others that add small turns right at the end as it meets the roundabout. ((I vaguely remember this was an “Iain fix”)
Either way, with the whole lot locked at L5, I would suggest you “pass it upwards” and watch what the experts do. ![]()
I have just received a new beta version of the app (for Android) and there is an update of the roundabout issue. They consider the problem related to the way editors have drawn the junctions on the roundabouts.
I see a lot of UR’s requiring re-drawing of roundabout junctions coming up. ![]()
Now going off to re-read the Wiki about roundabouts. ![]()

Beta issues are technically confidential, so better not to post too much detail to this forum. And although I’m a Beta tester too, I know nothing of this (possibly because I’m iOS rather than Android). I suggest you have a private conversation with Timbones, and then if appropriate someone needs to publicise any changes to the roundabout editing guidelines.

I was not going to put any details on here, just the comment that there may be more UR’s on the way.
What ever goes out in a Beta seems to go into the live version quite quickly, errors or not!
Just sent a PM to Tim and copied you.
